In a shocking incident, documents relating to a defamation case filed against Agriculture Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Kakani Govardhan Reddy went missing from a city court.
As per reports, the Sarvepalli MLA made harsh criticisms on former minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy at a press conference in 2017. Following this, the TDP leader filed a defamation case on Kakani.
Now, the Chinna Bazaar Police launched an investigation following a complaint from the staff of the IV Additional Judicial Magistrate Court late on Wednesday.
However, the police found no CCTV installed on the court premises. The robbery is said to have happened when the defamation case is nearing a conclusion.
For the unversed, Kakani has been in politics for almost 20 years. He won the Sarvepalli MLA seat in 2014 and 2019 Assembly elections.
