The Saroornagar police have booked a case against BJP lawmaker Arvind Dharmapuri for his derogatory comments on Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao at a media conference on July 13 in Hyderabad.
Based on the complaint of advocate V Ravikumar, the cops booked the Nizamabad MP under Indian Penal Code Sections 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 505 (1) (c) (intent to incite a class or community to commit any offence against any other class or community).
Advocate V Ravikumar alleged that Arvind Dharmapuri had used degrading words against KCR and tarnished the CM’s image to create hatred and provoke disaffection towards the TRS government.
“His words were intentionally meant against the Chief Minister to create a feeling of enmity. The derogative and abusive words used against a respected person amounts to degrading or bringing down the image of the government, thereby inciting people or creating disaffection towards the state government and creating an unwanted and unlawful atmosphere,” Ravikumar stated in his complaint.
