The by-polls for the Badvel assembly constituency in Andhra Pradesh and Huzurabad in Telangana were completed smoothly on Saturday.
Now, the counting of the by-election votes for the Badvel assembly constituency is going on at Gurukul Government Girls School on Nellore Road, Badvel town. The counting started at 8 am. Four counting centres were set up and seven tables were arranged at each counting centre. The counting of votes is expected to be completed in a maximum of 12 rounds. By the end of the 12th round, YSRC candidate Dasari Sudha is leading with 90550 votes.
With the main opposition Telugu Desam and the Jana Sena opted out of the polls, the by-poll has narrowed down between two parties – the YSR Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party.
On the other side, BJP candidate Etela Rajender is leading in the seventh round as well. After seven rounds, the BJP is leading by 3,432 votes. In the seventh round, Etela has shown domination by 246 votes. In all the rounds that have come out so far, the former TRS Miniter has the upper hand. In the results released so far, BJP has secured 31021 votes while TRS is fighting with 27589 and Congress got 1086 votes.
