With Natural Star Nani announcing “Hi Nanna” for December 7th, the confusion caused by Superstar Prabhas’ “Salaar” delay to December 22nd has been resolved. However, this places distributors and exhibitors under pressure with only two weeks to work their magic.
Nani’s film is set for the 7th, while Varun Tej’s “Operation Valentine” and Nithin’s “Extra Ordinary Man” have locked the 8th. There are rumors of postponements, but for now, Vishwaksen’s “Gangs of Godavari” is also scheduled for December 8th.
If these films stick to their promises, they’ll have until the 22nd to recoup their investments, relying on unanimous blockbuster reviews..What’s surprising is that none of these four films have an experienced director known for delivering hits.
“Hi Nanna” and “Operation Valentine” are helmed by newcomers, while “Gangs of Godavari” director Krishna Chaitanya has a history of non-hits, and “Extra’s” Vakkantam Vamsi previously had a directorial flop. The outcome in the first week of December remains uncertain.
