The Bollywood film industry on the whole, including the media, seems to be turning a bling eye to the fact that India is being represented on a grand scale at the Oscars this year, with RRR being nominated in the Best Original Song category, for Naatu Naatu.
Popular actress Deepika Padukone has been invited to this year’s Oscars, and Bollywood media is busy promoting her presence at the Oscars, going on to imply that she is the sole representative from India this year. At the same time, there’s not a single mention about RRR.
Considering that Bollywood has been heavily relying on South of late, when it comes to financial revenue or even promoting their films, it is truly shocking to see that Bollywood is ignoring RRR at the Oscars. It also is a shame that South cinema is still being ignore by Bollywood and everyone associated with it, despite all that South cinema has achieved.
