For past weeks, the state capital row in Andhra Pradesh, and dilemma in the Chief Minister post in Telangana are the headlines. During this intense situation, the news came out that AP CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will meet Telangana CM KCR this Sankranthi. Under these circumstances, their meeting garnered political significance.
The CMs of the sibling states are likely to discuss the pending issues between the two States. Though the Telangana government has not officially confirmed the date, reports said that Jagan will arrive here on January 13 and meet KCR at the latter’s official residence.
According to sources, the two CMs are also expected to discuss the national political issues, including the National Register of Citizens (NRC). The AP CM had already announced that he was against the implementation of NRC in AP. Now, with Modi looking much weaker than ever, they can possibly discuss the various plans to target the Prime Minister.
If KCR hands his CM chair to his son, he can play a significant role in national politics without any worries. Then, he can deal with the Telangana BJP by operating at a very high level. For Jagan, there are signs that Pawan is approaching Modi regarding the capital issue. Hence he may seek KCRs help and advises regarding the three capital issue.
Whatever it may be, this meeting will have a significant impact on the future politics of the two states.
