The High Court was outraged that the AP government was painting colours of the YSRCP flag for waste to wealth manufacturing centres without even considering the court orders. The ruling party has asked the government to paint these centres contrary to the directions given by the Supreme Court and the High Court.
The court has directed Panchayat Raj Secretary Gopalakrishna Dwivedi and Swachha Andhra Corporation MD to appear before the court in person on the 16th of this month. Notices have been issued to the Panchayat Raj Chief Secretary, Commissioner, Revenue Chief Secretary, Guntur District Collector, Swachchandra Corporation MD etc, who are the respondents in the case. The bench comprising Chief Justice Arup Kumar Goswami and Justice N Jaya Suriya passed the order on Wednesday.
Jada Shravan Kumar, counsel for the petitioner, while hearing the arguments, said that the ruling party had painted the flag colours for waste to wealth making centres contrary to the orders of the Supreme Court and the High Court. He also said that toilets, electricity poles and motors were not left out.
He said the court had earlier ordered the removal of YSRCP flag colours for government offices. Advocate General (AG) S Sriram on behalf of the government said that the state had not violated the Centre’s guidelines. However, the bench was dissatisfied with the details provided by the government.
