The AP High Court has given a key judgment regarding the panchayat elections in AP. It is learned that the High Court bench, which was hearing the appeal filed by the State Election Commission (SEC) against the High Court single judge verdict, reserved its judgment after two days of arguments.
The High Court ordered that the panchayat elections be held in AP without any trouble.
The High Court said that both the public health and elections were equally important and directed that coordination be exercised.
However, it seems that the government intends to approach the Supreme Court on the High Court judgment.
Previously, the SEC Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar has announced the election schedule for the panchayat elections to be held in four phases.
