One after the other, the YSRCP members continue to talk about the three capitals, and especially stress on Visakhapatnam as the Executive Capital of the state. Now, it is Minister for Revenue, Dharmana Prasad Rao, who has spoken about the issue. He said that the Chief Minister, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, will definitely shift his base to Vizag, and that it will happen very soon.
Speaking at a round table meeting in Srikakulam, he appealed to the people of North Andhra to fight and achieve Vizag as the executive capital of the state, as it can be made into an international capital with just Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 10,000 Crores investment, as opposed to Rs. 5 Lakh Crores that would be required to make Amaravati into an international capital, as the then CM, Nara Chandrababu Naidu had announced.
The High Court of Andhra Pradesh passed a judgment earlier this year, reinstating Amaravati as the sole capital of the state, but the YSRCP government continues to go ahead with its 3 capitals plan. It is now to be seen what will happen in the end.
