State Election Commissioner Ramesh Kumar has said that the Election Commission is looking into giving another chance to those who withdrew from contesting in the municipal elections due to coercion and failed to make nominations under certain circumstances. The decision will be taken in one or two days at the request of the victims.
The SEC explained that it hopes to give them another chance under the benefit of the doubt. He said that for the first time they are going to use the privileges of the Election Commission.
In this regard, SEC held separate meetings with officials of Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam, and West Godavari districts and representatives of political parties on arrangements for the Municipal elections.
The SEC announced that it was temporarily banning the system of volunteers until the end of the elections.
