Amidst growing concerns pertaining to the diplomatic relationships between India and Canada, India has suspended visa services to Canada.
Effective today, India has suspended visa services to Canada. This comes after Canadian president Justin Trudeau mentioned that his country suspects there is the role of Indian agents in the killing of Khalistani leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Western Canada province.
The comment from the Canadian president meant that India reciprocated with as much vigor and even asked Indian citizens in Canada to be more vigilant than ever in the midst of this international turmoil.
Now, India has taken the drastic measure of suspending visa services to Canada till further notice. There is no fixed timeline on when the visa services could be revived.
Canada had already started to pull back its diplomats in India amidst the growing concerns.
