It is already known that the three capitals bill was repealed in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly last week, by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s government. Following this, the government and the YSRCP members thought that the farmers would withdraw their petitions from the AP High Court.
Several petitions have been filed against the formation of the 3 capitals, and the HC even passed status quo judgements on the shifting of the capital to Visakhapatnam. The status quo judgements have been extended by the HC, while the farmers refused to withdraw their petitions. Senior advocates Shyam Diwan and Suresh, argued on behalf of the petitioners, while the government’s petitioners said that not withdrawing the petitions from the HC wouldn’t stand valid, as the 3 capital bill has been repealed totally.
On the other hand, the HC said that a decision would be taken after an official gazette notification is issued by the governor, who is yet to review and pass his verdict on the repealing of the 3 capital bill.
