The Andhra Pradesh government has given a big shock to Telugu Desam Party MP Galla Jayadev’s family-owned Amara Raja Batteries.
The company on Friday received closure orders from the Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (APPCB) for its plants located in the Chittoor district for violating pollution control regulations.
The company has received closure orders dated April 30 for the company’s manufacturing facilities located at Karakambadi, Tirupati and Nunegundlapalli in the Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh.
Amara Raja Batteries said it would review the orders and take all necessary recourse to protect the interest of all its stakeholders.
“As a responsible organization, we have taken many steps to protect the environment in our units over the years. We have also made significant investments in pollution control,” Amara Raja Batteries said.
