The makers of Alia Bhatt’s Gangubai Kathiawadi announced that the film would be releasing on the 6th of January next year. This comes as a surprising announcement as RRR was touted to release in the first or the second week of January.
Pen Studios have bagged the theatrical rights of both Gangubai, and RRR(Hindi version) and it would be a shocking development if they release both these films with a week’s gap.
So, many expected that Gangubai would be pushed to a later date if RRR really locks January release. Related reports had also surfaced on social media.
However, the makers of Gangubai have reiterated the release date as they have released a new poster of the film. The poster confirms that the film will indeed be releasing on the 6th of January. This confirms that the Alia Bhatt starrer will not be making way for RRR even if the latter locks early January release. It remains to be seen how Pen Studios will deal with the situation.
