The Maharashtra government has decided to impose a weeklong lockdown in Nagpur from March 15 to 21st as corona cases are on rising. With this, Uddhav Thackeray took the decision that the essential goods, vegetables, fruit stalls, and milk booths will be excluded from the lockdown.
The government has said that the lockdown is being imposed under the Nagpur Police Commissionerate. The highest number of cases are being registered in Maharashtra.
Maharashtra ranks first in the state with the highest number of corona cases in the country. In Nagpur, 1710 cases were registered in a single day. Officials say this is the first time in the last 173 days that such a large number of cases have been registered.
The states of Maharashtra and Kerala have the highest number of corona cases in the country. The Center has alerted the border states of Maharashtra.
