The vaccination is set to begin across India today. Across the country, three crore vaccine doses will be given in advance to front-line warriors such as medical and sanitation workers. The center has written letters to the states on the common side effects of vaccination. It has been suggested that a paracetamol tablet may be sufficient for minor side effects after vaccination.
The Center stated that pain or swelling may occur at the injection site. It also stated that people who are vaccinated are more likely to have headaches, fatigue, and vomiting. Fever, cramps, abdominal pain, dizziness, chill, and cough may also occur, the center said. ICU centers have been set up within a walkable distance of each vaccination to provide treatment in emergencies. The situation will be reviewed by the respective district collectors from time to time.
