One more game and one more spectacular show put by Mumbai Indians. The defending champions showed how good a side they are once again in this match. Thus, they had a 57-run win against Rajasthan Royals. On the batting front, it was Surya Kumar Yadav (73*) who has put on a great show for Mumbai. On the bowling front, it was Bumrah (4/20), Boult (2/26) and Pattinson (2/19) who have done the job for their side. Rajasthan’s batsmen once again failed which resulted in a third-straight defeat for their team.

Mumbai Indians’ skipper Rohit Sharma elected to bat first after winning the toss. de Kock and Rohit gave a scintillating start to their team by hitting big shots right from the beginning. They have made a 49-run partnership and de Kock them got dismissed in the fifth over. That didn’t stop Mumbai’s momentum as Rohit kept hitting along with Surya Kumar Yadav. Spinner Shreyas Gopal got rid of Rohit in the 10th over. He dismissed Ishan Kishan for a golden duck the very next ball. Krunal Pandya then came and failed to make any impact. In the process, Surya Kumar Yadav finished his first half-century of this season. He got good support from Hardik Pandya. By the end of 20 overs, Mumbai managed to score 193/4.

Once again, Rajasthan got a disastrous start while chasing this big total. Their top-order batsmen Yashaswi Jaiswal, Steve Smith and Sanju Samson fell in the first three overs. By the end of power play, Rajasthan’s score was 31/3. RR also lost Mahipal Lomror right after the power play. Jos Buttler tried to win this match for his team but he got out by a stunning catch taken by Pollard. After Buttler’s dismissal, RR’s defeat was inevitable. Finally, they lost all the wickets for a score of 136 runs in 18.1 overs.

Scorecard:

Mumbai Indians: 193/4 (SK Yadav 79*, R Sharma 35, S Gopal 2/28)

Rajasthan Royals: 136 all-out (J Buttler 70, J Archer 24, J Bumrah 4/20)
