Noted Tollywood filmmaker, Gunasekhar is presently in a rough phase of his career. Almost all his recent films tanked at the box office. However, Gunasekhar is confident of making a comeback with his next film Hiranyakashyapa, which has Rana in the titular role.
Going into the story, Gunasekhar recently approached Netflix with a script that could be adapted into a web series. He hoped to direct the project if Netflix came on board to produce it.
However, Netflix rejected the script as they were not fully satisfied with it. They politely turned down Gunasekhar’s proposal.
Gunasekhar will have to come up with an alternative script if he is to materialize the project. But he will have to remain focused on Hiranyakashyapa for now.
Hiranyakashyapa will be made on a budget of over Rs 200 crores. A team of Hollywood technicians are a part of the project and Fox Star Studios is partnering with Suresh productions for this mythological drama. Gunasekhar would enter the elite league of directors again if he can score a big hit with this film.
