A 27-year-old married woman hailing from the Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh slipped to death while snapping a selfie at Bald River Falls in the US on Saturday. The US Police said that the person is identified as Polavarapu Kamala who was dwelling at Mayfield Heights, Ohio.
Kamala had gone to her nearby family members’ home on Saturday. While returning, she went to Bald River Falls to take a selfie. In an unfortunate case, the woman lost her balance while taking a picture at the popular tourist attraction site and slipped into the waters.
There were hundreds of people taking delight in the scenery and water fall area at the time. Kamala’s husband told they were close to the head of the falls when they slipped into the water. Onlookers hauled him out yet Kamala was cleared away by spouting waters.
Afterwards, she was found caught under a log and was rushed to the Sweetwater hospital for treatment where she was pronounced dead due to severe injuries.
Reports suggest that Kamala was a native of Gudlavalleru Village in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh. She is a graduate in engineering and travelled to the US to pursue MS and later joined in a software firm.
North America Telugu Society (NATS) ensured to send her mortal remains to India for final rites.
