Theaters are shut down from the past few months and they are not going to be opened any time soon. So film makers of small movies are opting out for OTT releases which is profitable for them irrespective of the film’s result. Recently we have seen Jyothika’s Ponmagal Vandhaal being released on OTT platform. Now that latest news is that Telugu film Uma Maheswara Ugra Roopasya which stars Satya Dev in the lead role is also opting for direct digital release.
The other day film has cleared censor formalities. It has been cleared with Clean U certificate. It is said that Aha digital platform has bagged the digital rights for the movie and it will be streamed online from June last week or July first week. Uma Maheswara Ugra Roopasya is a remake of Malayalam film Maheshinte Prathikaram. Venkatesh Maha of C/o Kancherapalem fame has directed this remake.
Baahubali makers Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni has produced this small budgeted film on Arka Media works banner. We have to see how this movie performs on digital space.
