Prime Minister Narendra Modi severely went against Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for his fight against the EVMs.
Right after the assembly and Lok Sabha elections have been concluded in AP, Naidu had been criticizing the election commission and BJP government alleging irregularities in the conduct of the elections. Naidu intensified the fight, engaging all his friends in regional parties of other states, and even took it to Delhi.
Finally, Modi now responded to the issue. The PM opined that Naidu has been already aware that BJP will form the government again and is so targeting him on a continuous basis. He ridiculed Naidu’s fight against EVMs saying, “Blaming EVMs is like blaming the Umpire in Cricket after they are declared ‘out’.”
Naidu led 21 opposition parties have reached out to the Supreme Court, and filed a petition to count 50% VVPAT slips, but the apex court turned down it right away, leaving Naidu and his team red-faced. The AP election results are scheduled to be out on 23rd of this month and YSRCP is pretty confident of forming the government. It is because of that, Naidu is continuously blaming the Centre and the election commission, most of the oppositions opine.
