Consuming poison, a youth attempted to suicide at the Penpahad police station in Suryapet.
Naveen Reddy and Vijayalaxmi who loved each other, had got married, getting away from home, as the parents from both the sides are against their relationship. Aggrieved over this, the parents of the girl, reached out to the police station and complained against Naveen Reddy.
The girl’s parents blamed Naveen Reddy, saying that he forced Vijayalaxmi to marry him. The police who accepted the complaint, called both Naveen Reddy and Vijayalaxmi to the police station. The girl’s parents then forcibly took away Vijayalaxmi to home. As even the police couldn’t stop them, Naveen assumed it as even parents were in support of the girl’s parents and thus tried to attempt suicide right on the spot by consuming poison.
The police officials, however, stopped his attempt and admitted him in the hospital. Naveen Reddy is currently undergoing the treatment and his condition is found to be stable.
Naveen alleged that both of them were majors, and have every right to get married. He also said that police were in support of the girl’s parents. He demanded police to get back his wife from her parents.
