We will remember the letter ’23’ in AP politics for a long time. Jagan made it familiar when he permitted the TDP to 23 seats in the 2019 general elections as the opposition party lured the same amount of MLAs when they were in the ruling. Later Jagan vouched for discouraging any entries from the TDP unless they opt to give up their MLA seat.
Times have changed and it seems Jagan is feeling insecure with the internal differences between the YSRCP leaders in some key districts. Handling 151 MLAs at a time is a tough ask and it seems Jagan is getting compromised on his promise. Already some TDP leaders left Naidu and they are supporting Jagan in every possible way expecting a call from the CM. Rahman, Kadiri Babu Rao kind of leaders come under this category.
Now, as the TDP senior leader Karanam Balaram turned out as big liability for Jagan in Prakasham district, Jagan played his cards right and reportedly invited him to YSRCP. Chirala MLA Karanam Balaram Krishna Murthy has decided to quit the Telugu Desam Party for YSR Congress and met Jagan the other day.
It may not get revealed instantly in the wake of the local body elections but Balaram will follow the route of some leaders like Vallabhaneni Vamsi, Ramesh Babu who are fed up with TDP’s inconsistency and Naidu’s lack of judgement and are acting as unofficial YCP cadre.
So, sooner or later Karanam Balaram will make a grand entry into YCP and Jagan strengthens himself in the Praksham district as well using Karanam’s 43 years long political journey and experience. After all these are politics, right?
But the liability part comes where ‘ kamma ‘ equation gonna hurt Jagan at this juncutre . Also Karanam balaram is facing allegations from Local Chirala YCP cadre that he put lot of fake cases on YCP supporters on the ground during last year general elections. THis might effect Local body elections to YCP as many people are not happy with Jagan’s move of bringing in their biggest enemy Karanam Balaram into YCP.
