Demanding to count 50% VVPAT slips, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said that he would protest in Delhi.

It is known that Naidu has been fighting relentlessly against the election commission, alleging that there were irregularities in the election process, during the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections.

He also alleged that the EC is acting according to the directions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is aiming at the defeat of TDP in AP. Naidu also reached out to Delhi, along with his friends in the political parties of other states. Now he even claimed that a few of the NGOs have agreed to come forward and conduct awareness programmes on VVPATs. Naidu said that he would write letters to the VVPAT experts in the country soon.

The AP CM further clarified that his fight is against the poll panel, but not against the poll officials posted to the state. He opined that, except those executing the polling related works, the rest other officials have to work under the government.

The opposition leaders on the other side, went on busting out against Naidu, saying that his fight against the EC and the Centre is baseless. They alleged that it was only due to the fear of losing in the election, Naidu is creating unnecessary stuff like this, to make the public believe that there were irregularities in the election process. Naidu however, denied the allegations, saying that he is extremely confident of winning in the election and retaining the government in AP. He added that his fight is to save the democracy, by stabilizing the election process in the country.

Naidu also appreciated the efforts of the government officials and their support to him during the last five years, opining that a few of them with vested interests were trying to divide them in the name of caste and religion.
