Telangana Congress Legislature Party is all set to get merged into TRS, the reports say.
19 MLAs have won in the Telangana Assembly elections last year, out of which 10 MLAs have already joined the TRS and three others are reportedly planning to join the Pink party soon.
So the Congress is in threat of losing the opposition position in Telangana. Reports are rife that the letter with signatures of 13 MLAs, agreeing to merge the Congress into TRS, would be submitted to the Telangana Speaker soon.
As the Telangana assembly meetings are scheduled to be held from the first week of June, Telangana Chief Minister KCR is keen to complete the merging procedure, before the meetings, the reports say.
After the formation of Telangana, KCR made his best efforts to eliminate the opposition parties from the state. Both TDP and YSRCP are not in a position to enter Telangana in the near future. Adding to it, Congress is not strong enough to compete with the TRS. At this point of time, there is no other choice for Telangana people, other than picking KCR and his TRS party.
As the Panchayat elections are upcoming, KCR is keen to bang the maximum number of seats, expecting that would improve the TRS party political prospects in the coming days. Meanwhile even TDP is almost at the closure position in Telangana and so, KCR is keen to get the party merged into TRS, so that he would be the whole and sole of the state.
No doubt, TRS party has extraordinary political prospects and Telangana people are committed to the party. But completely eliminating the oppositions, instead of fighting them in a healthy manner, may not go well with all sections of the public.
