Going against the election commission for trying to restrict Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu from reviewing the government programmes, Nara Lokesh responded to the issue on Saturday.
For the past few days, there is an open war between Naidu and EC. After concluding the assembly and Lok Sabha elections in AP, the CM went onto perform his duties, like reviewing the projects like Polavaram etc and also conduct the video conference with the other TDP leaders. These activities have disturbed the YSRCP leaders who then complained to the EC, alleging that Naidu is violating the election code.
EC then responded to it, saying that it is not fair on the part of him to act against the election code. EC opine that the Chief Minister is not supposed to review any programmes or invite media for the press meets and even should stay away from conducting any video conferences as is a clear violation of the election code..
But Naidu jumped to revert that EC has no right to interfere in the governmental activities and went on to move with his works. But the uncompromising EC even demanded an explanation from Naidu, for which the CM maintained mum. Now, Lokesh took to respond on the issue saying that when Telangana government is performing all the governmental activities with no restrictions, then why the AP government alone is answerable to the EC.
Not stopping there, the young minister also questioned the EC, “what would be the position of the public in Summer, if the drinking water issue is not reviewed and solved by the CM of a state? The department of Information and Public Relations is also releasing the official advertisements on Telangana Chief Minister KCR reviews. But I don’t understand why the EC is least bothered about the activities in Telangana and is only concerned about AP.”
