The reason behind most of the men preferring beard over anything is due to the manly look it gives. A few intellectuals also believe that the beard protects the skin from the allergies. As part of a research, 18 bearded men and 30 furry dogs were chosen and the results were shocking. All the men were identified to have high microbial counts when compared to the 23 out of 30 dogs.
The researchers also compared the microbial count of a scanner used by only humans and the joint scanner used for the study. It showed that the scanner used by the humans had a high count of bacteria, than the one used by the dogs and non-bearded people.
After the findings, the researcher Andreas Gutzeit has confirmed that the dogs are clean when compared with bearded men. Adding to it, they also discovered that a few of the bearded men could also fall terribly sick, due the very high microbial count.
