Director SS Rajamouli’s much-awaited epic, RRR, featuring Ram Charan and NTR in the lead roles, was released in March this year. The film became a roaring success in India, and abroad as well, collecting over Rs. 1200 Crores. The film has been making huge waves internationally as well, with even Hollywood filmmakers and media talking about the film.
The film has now achieved a very unique award, in the sense that students belonging to the Thomas Hart Middle School students in Pleasanton, California, surprised everyone by singing the Naatu Naatu song in an assembly. Never before has anything on such a scale happened, ever before, making it a first-of-its-kind record.
On the other hand, RRR is currently being shown in the Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles, where the audience response has been massive for the film, and especially for Naatu Naatu. There is also a strong Oscars buzz surrounding the film, and even though the film is not India’s official entry to Oscars, it is still possible to send the film independently, and it is to be seen what will happen in the end.
