The BJP government at the Centre has appointed Tamilisai Soundararajan as the new governor of Telangana.
Recently, when the Centre appointed a new governor for Andhra Pradesh, there were anticipations that even Telangana governor will be replaced with a suitable candidate soon. Finally, the Centre passed the orders today and made the news official.
In the pat, the UPA government appointed ESL Narasimhan as the governor of both the Telugu states and even NDA retained him in his position. After completing nine years in service, he is now replaced with Tamilisai Soundararajan.
Narasimhan is known for his friendly relation with Telangana Chief Minister KCR. There are almost zero instances where he went against the TS CM. But as BJP is pinning high hopes on the state and is aiming to form the government by the next elections, it replaced him with Tamilisai, who is acting as the BJP in-charge of Tamil Nadu.
It is an open secret that the Governors act in favor of the Central government. As Tamilisai is much aware of the south politics, she is expected to work on strengthening BJP in Telangana, by obstructing the flow of TRS in the state from time to time.
