Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is reportedly in a dilemma over the clash between two Reddys from Nellore. He is said to be unable to decide who deserves his support, because of which is said to be keeping quiet despite the drama that’s going on. Anam Ramanarayan Reddy and Nedurumalli Ramkumar Reddy are the two Reddys in question here.
Both of them belonged to the Congress party before the bifurcation of united Andhra Pradesh. While Anam was a key minister in the cabinets of Congress CMs YSR, Rosaiah and Kiran Kumar Reddy, Ramkumar Reddy is the son of former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Nedurumalli Janardhan Reddy. After the bifurcation of the state, Anam joined the TDP, while Nedurumalli joined the BJP. Both of them left their parties and joined the YSRCP right before the 2019 elections, where Anam got elected as the MLA from the Venkatagiri constituency. Although Nedurumalli also vied for this seat, Jagan ultimately gave the ticket to Anam.
Now, with Nedurumalli’s supporters openly claiming that Jagan has decided to give the Venkatagiri Assembly ticket to Nedurumalli in the 2024 Assembly polls, while Anam will be shifted to Nellore city, Anam’s supporters are waging a war. On the other hand, Jagan recently nominated Nedurumalli to the chairman post of a government corporation with cabinet rank, which has not sat well with Anam’s supporters. As a result, the two Reddy groups are at war, and it is now to be seen what Jagan will ultimately do.
