We know SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus ‘RRR’ is set to hit the screens on 7 January 2022. With the much-awaited biggie locked on its release date, several films paved a way for the multi starrer and avoided the competition.
Now, Alia Bhatt’s forthcoming film Gangubai Kathiawadi has postponed its release to avert a clash with Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’. The film, which was delayed multiple times owing to Covid-19, has been postponed yet again. On Monday, the makers of Alia Bhatt starrer announced that the film will now release on 18 February 2022.
Announcing the new release date on Monday, the makers wrote: “We are glad to announce that Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi has a new release date. Produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Jayantilal Gada (Pen Studios). The film will release on February 18, 2022.”
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ is adapted from Hussain Zaidi’s book, ‘Mafia Queens of Mumbai’. It features Bhatt in the title role of Gangubai, one of the most respected madams from Kamathipura during the 1960s.
Notably, Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn, who plays the role of a mobster in Gangubai Kathiawadi, will also be seen together in SS Rajamouli’s RRR, which will also be distributed by Pen Studios.
