Russian President Vladimir Putin is going into self-isolation because of coronavirus cases in his inner circle. He is scheduled to attend regional security meetings in Tajikistan this week. However, he spoke on the phone with Tajikistan President and informed him that he is going into isolation and would not be able to attend the summit in Dushanbe this week.
The Kremlin announced this news Tuesday, adding that Putin tested negative for Covid-19.
Putin has already been vaccinated. He took the second dose of the Russian-made Sputnik-V vaccine in April. On Monday, he took part in several events. In addition to meeting with Russian Para Olympians, he also participated in military exercises organized in collaboration with Belarus. However, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Putin was “completely healthy”.
