The resignation of volunteers in the state of Andhra Pradesh is causing a lot of stir, given that the ruling YSRCP always boasts of coming up with the volunteer system, which reduces the work for the people of the state. In a shocking turn of events, 32 members had resigned from Visakhapatnam, and now, an even bigger number of people have resigned from Chittoor district.
A total of 74 members have resigned from Pakala Mandal of the Chittoor district and said that this was due to the harassment of the ruling party leaders and the EO. They even protested in front of the MPDO office, demanding the resignation of EO Kusumakumari, and urged for the harassment to stop.
These volunteers also said that all the remote areas of the state are not equipped with proper facilities and roads and that when they took this to the notice of the police, they started harassing them in return, on the pretence that they are linked up to Maoists. Furthermore, the volunteers said that they had to resign as they were left without much choice.
