TV9 is one of the leading news channels in Telugu, which lakhs of viewers tuning in to watch the channel every day. However, the channel’s reputation is now at risk, with an issue between its anchors creating headlines.
There are internal politics in every field and in every office, but the issue at TV9 became so serious that it went to the extent of police complaints. A female journalist is said to have lodged a complaint with the Cyber Security department, against other TV9 anchors Purnima, Sumathi and Sundar.
This female anchor is said to have told the Cyber Security Police that she is being harassed by the three anchors with personal photos of hers. She is also said to have told them that she is being harassed both physically and mentally. With that, the police have registered cases under sections IPC 66, R/w 43, 84 (B) IT Act, R/w 511 against the three anchors.
With the issue turning out to be a major sensation, the heads of TV9 are saying that it’s a personal issue, but the channel’s reputation is still being affected. Moreover, things are said to be getting worse with sources saying that there’s no involvement of higher authorities or any efforts to settle down the issue.
