It is well known that the nations of the world are standing in support of India, which is battling with the second wave of Covid-19. The US is also helping India.
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said the US so far provided over $500 million in Covid-19 assistance to India. The superpower is also determining the distribution of the 80 million vaccines to the other countries.
“To date, the United States has provided over USD 500 million in Covid relief to India, including contributions from the US federal and state governments, American companies and organizations and private citizens,” White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said.
The Biden government is now working to extend that help to other South Asian countries that have been impacted by the pandemic. As part of this, the US expects to provide 80 million doses (of Covid-19 vaccines). Of these, 60 crore are AstraZeneca vaccines and 20 million of three other approved vaccines.
