A shocking incident took place in Tirumala. Rs.10 lakh was found in the house of a beggar. TTD vigilance officers seized an amount of Rs.10 lakh from the house of a man named Srinivasachary, who was a beggar in the Tirumala. Srinivasachari got house No.75 in Seshachalanagar near Thirumala in 2007. Since then he has been amassing money by begging and doing small businesses in Tirumala. He saved all the money he earned at his home itself.
However, he died of illness last year. TTD tried to take over the house as he had no heirs. As part of this, TTD vigilance officers and revenue officials went to Seshachalanagar. While inspecting the house, the officers found the amount. This includes old Rs.1,000 notes and about Rs.10 lakh cash. Everything was seized by the TTD and they transferred it to the treasury.
