It is already known that Ratnaprabha has been announced as the joint candidate from Bharatiya Janata Party and Jana Sena, for the upcoming Tirupati by-elections. Pawan Kalyan had even been to Tirupati recently, and spoke on behalf of Ratnaprabha, asking the people of Tirupati to vote for Ratnaprabha.
The nominations and withdrawal procedure is over, and the symbols are now being allotted to each candidate. Unfortunately, the symbol of the glass, usually associated with Jana Sena, has not been given to Ratnaprabha, and she has instead been assigned with the BJP’s symbol. This might turn out to be a major problem for the BJP, as the party is mostly banking on Pawan Kalyan’s popularity in Tirupati, for their votes.
Usually, the election commission gives empty symbols to an independent candidate, so it’s now like there wouldn’t be a glass symbol while voting. This might cause a lot of confusion, as people might vote for someone else, thinking that they belong to Jana Sena, as they would see the glass symbol.
The BJP will have to intervene and make sure that the glass symbol is not given to anyone, if it wants to avoid any confusion, and if wants to make sure that it makes proper use of Pawan’s craze in Tirupati. When Pawan came to a recent gathering, a lot of Pawan’s fans were present at the meeting, enabling the reach to be a lot higher.
