The Yuvajana Sramika Raithu Congress Party has dominated the municipality elections in Andhra Pradesh. The YSRCP has managed to gain 95% of the Seats in the state, and TDP doesn’t seem to have even been able to have given a strong competition to the ruling party.
Excepting in a few municipalities, the TDP didn’t win majorly. The TDP managed to win in Thadipatri and while it did not get majority votes in Kadapa, the TDP managed to win in several places in Maidukuru. This is the same position for the TDP in the corporation elections.
The YSRCP managed to win majorly in Vijayawada and Guntur as well, both of which come under capital region. Of the 57 wards in Guntur, the YSRCP managed to win in 43 wards. One ward was voted upon unanimously, TDP won in 9 wards, Jana Sena won in 2 wards, and YSRCP rebels won in 2 wards.
The TDP also failed to win in any of the coastal Andhra regions. Jana Sena stood next to YSRCP in the coastal Andhra region, while there’s no news of the BJP winning anywhere. Based on the way the YSRCP has performed in these elections, it’s safe to say that the ruling party is still going strong, and that the people are still supporting it very much.
