Metropolitan Magistrate Court, Andheri issued a bailable warrant against Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut in a defamation case filed against her by Javed Akhtar.
The Queen actress was asked to appear in court on March 1, 2021, in connection to the case, but she failed it. Following this, the Court issued a bailable warrant on her.
In November 2020, Javed Akhtar had registered a complaint against the actress post which she was asked to appear before the Andheri metropolitan magistrate. The noted lyricist had alleged that Ms Ranaut had passed derogatory statements against him in television interviews.
As per reports, Ranaut on July 10 falsely attributed statements to him in an interview to a TV channel while also giving her opinion on the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
