The crisis in the ruling Congress party in Puducherry has intensified. Shocking the Congress party, senior leader and four-time MLA Lakshminarayan has resigned.
He said the decision was taken because he did not have proper recognition in the party. Meanwhile, another Congress MLA Venkatesh also said goodbye to the party by announcing his resignation.
Recently, the Narayanaswamy government has collapsed in Puducherry. With this, CM Narayanaswamy left for Raj Bhavan with his resignation letter.
The Congress formed a coalition government with 30 seats in the Puducherry Assembly. Narayana Swamy took over as Chief Minister with the support of 18 members, including the Congress, DMK, and an independent candidate.
A total of four members from the Congress party resigned in the process. With this, the strength of the party reached 14. Among them are Congress-10, DMK-3, and one Independent.
