It is already known that the government of Andhra Pradesh has the police department around its fingers, and that the police department usually does not file any cases against members belonging to the ruling party. At least, this is what the opposition party members think so.
Recently, when a TDP member allegedly threatened a person contesting in the local elections, the Police department filed cases on the TDP member, to such an extent that the person in question has not been able to get bail so far. When the alleged threatening audio was leaked to the public, everyone was surprised and even questioned how the conversation that transpired could even be considered as threatening.
On the other hand, when a YSRCP member literally threatened to uproot the life of a person contesting in the local elections, the Police department took two days to respond on the matter, and even then, the cases were all very bailable.
This is not the first time that the Police department has behaved in a very patronising behaviour towards the ruling party and its members. It has been happening ever since the YSRCP came into power.
With this most recent incident, members of every opposition are now once again very openly stating that it is indeed true, that all rules and laws apply to only those who do not belong to the YSRCP, and that there are no rules at all, to those who belong to the YSRCP.
