The Chairman of the State Government Employees Union, Venkatrami Reddy, in a recent statement, has asked the SEC, Nimmagadda Ramesh, to conduct the local body elections with whoever is willing to cooperate with the SEC for the elections.
He said it is not right to torment government employees just because they are not cooperating with the SEC due to Coronavirus.
Reddy also questioned why the SEC did not conduct the local elections when there was no Coronavirus, and why he is rushing towards conducting them now, despite the prominence of the spreading of the virus.
Reddy also said that the SEC is intentionally doing all of this, and is bringing a bad name to the AP government, keeping in mind what has happened between him and the government, for political advantages.
Reddy said that while everyone is talking about constitutional rights, no one is bothered about the rights of employees, and what they want. Reddy even pointed out that the SEC is himself not sure about the elections, as there is no way that elections can be conducted without the voter list written down.
He once again reiterated that the SEC should go ahead and conduct the elections with whoever is willing to cooperate with him, and not torment those who are not willing to.
