There is no doubt that the Polavaram project is a very prestigious one, and that once it’s completed, it could save a lot of lives, and a lot of problems for the state of Andhra Pradesh.
However, it now looks like all the politicians of the state of AP are more concerned about the statue that is to be established near the project, than the completion of the project itself. Speaking to the media in Rajamahendravaram on Saturday, AP BJP President Sonu Veerraju said that former Prime Minister Vajpayee’s statue should be established near the project.
Veerraju said that he very confidently and openly agrees to the fact that it was YSR who started the project. Despite that, he said that Vajpayee’s statue is to be put up, and if that doesn’t happen, then he said that the BJP would do that themselves.
What’s interesting is that the YSRCP already decided to put up a 100 ft statue of YSR near the project. With the BJP now demanding yet another statue for Vajpayee, everyone is wondering if no one cares about the Polavaram project anymore.
Furthermore, Somu Veerraju went on to accuse the YSRCP of not developing the state any bit, and just wasting the people’s money on court cases. He said that the BJP was the reason for the slightest development taking place in the state.
On the other hand, Jagan, in the past, said that Chandrababu Naidu had unnecessarily increased the budget of the project to Rs. 48,000 Crores in the past, and also said that he would make sure that this budget comes down.
