Director SS Rajamouli delivered the biggest film of this year, in the form of RRR, which was headlined by Ram Charan and NTR, with the actors playing Alluri Sitaramaraju and Komaram Bheem, respectively. Alia Bhatt and Olivia Morris were cast opposite the actors, respectively, in the film.
The film is all set to make its OTT debut on Zee 5 tomorrow, making it the first big film for the streaming platform. Zee5 has had a good inventory of films so far, but none as big as RRR. It initially announced that an additional Rs. 100 would be needed for the audience to watch the film – a rental fee – but soon withdrew ints announcement, after the severe flak that it received for this decision. A similar thing took place with Amazon Prime after it lived a rental charge for KGF2.
Now RRR can be streamed on Zee 5, ad-free, with the regular membership that the site offers. For those who have paid an additional Rs. 100, an additional 3-month membership has been provided. On the other hand, RRR collected over Rs. 1000 Crores at the box office, making it the second film to do so after the Baahubali franchise. The release of the film on Zee5 coincides with NTR’s birthday, on May 20th.
