Kuppam has been a stronghold for the TDP for a really long time now. No matter what, the TDP always manages to win in Kuppam, even though it faces hiccups in the initial stages. In the 2019 elections also, while the TDP was trailing in Kuppam initially, TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu, who contested from the area, won with a vast majority.
With Kuppam being fiercely loyal to the TDP, the YSRCP is now planning to take hold of this region, by trying various methods to gain the loyalty of the people of Kuppam. The YSRCP has given out 14653 land pattas to the beneficiaries under the Housing for All Scheme, and 34956 welfare pensions are being given in the area, of which 30970 pensions were given since the TDP’s regime itself.
The Arogyasri scheme is also being implemented on a large scale, with 13468 people benefitting from the scheme. Other YSRCP schemes such as Amma Vodi, Naratnalu, Jagananna Vidya Deevena, Jagananna Vasati Deevana are being implemented on a large scale as well, to as many as 53197 beneficiaries. Village secretaries are being used to full effect in the area, to make sure that these schemes are being implemented properly.
The YSRCP is also keeping regular contact with these beneficiaries, with the help of the phone numbers and Aadhar Card details that the YSRCP has. MP Reddeppa Reddy has been sent to Kuppam especially, to make sure that he ensures that the people of Kuppam receive all the schemes of the government. While the YSRCP is deploying this much force to increase its following in Kuppam, the TDP is falling behind, due to the lack of volunteers, as all of its members have joined the YSRCP. Despite that, it’s high time the TDP does something to make sure that it retains Kuppam.
