Armed with pollsters projections of his party’s possible emphatic victory in April 11 polls, the YSRCP MP Vijay Sai Reddy, came down heavily on chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu and his ‘benamis’, who run ‘yellow media’ for unleashing ‘fake news’ to mislead the electorate.
“Fearing defeat staring at them, Naidu’s ‘yellow media’ has intensified its campaign with ‘fake news’,” he told newsmen on Saturday.
“None would be spared for their crimes perpetrated on us misusing the media platforms,” Sai Reddy made it clear. He accused Naidu government for shelling out Rs 1,500 crores to ‘Andhra Jyoti’ for spreading canards against our party and leaders,” he alleged. Apart from this, Radhakrishna, had also extorted another Rs 150 cr through government advertisements.
He said, they have already lodged a complaint with the Election Commission and, if voted to power, they will not spare Andhra Jyoti promoter Radhakrishna. “Legal action will be initiated to push all those who indulged in unprofessional and unethical means to defame YSRCP chief Jaganmohan Reddy as well others. They have to pay the price and we ensure to push them behind bars.”
He also objected to a report in which ABN Andhra Jyoti TV channel has dragged his name purportedly criticizing the party chief, which war far from truth and no basis whatsoever. “In fact some words that I apparently used were not even known to me. It appears to be doctored tape. Made with ulterior motives to create a wedge between me and the party leadership, which never exist,” he said.
He said, the channel which is known to support a particular community is well known to people. Also of the professional background of the channel promoter, who himself admitted of smuggling rice and kerosene to make a livelihood.
Meanwhile, if one has to believe rumors making rounds in the media, the YSRCP has already working on the future cabinet as well positioning of the bureaucracy to implement its election manifesto no sooner it takes over the reins after May 23 verdict.
