The CBI continues to probe several people in relation to the murder of YS Vivekananda Reddy, who was murdered at his house, ahead of the 2019 elections. On Thursday, under mysterious circumstances, Kalluri Gangadhara Reddy, aged 49, a witness in the case, died at his house in Yakidi village of Ananthapur district. The police, who were alerted by his family members, then took the body for post-mortem.
Gangadhara Reddy is basically from Pulivendula in Kapada district but moved to Yadiki a decade ago. He has been a supporter of Sivasankar Reddy, who is one of the accused in the murder case of Vivekananda Reddy. Gangadhara Reddy turned the witness for the CBI, and told them that Sivasankar Reddy had offered him Rs. 10 Crores to confess to having killed Vivekananda Reddy.
However, soon after, he said that the CBI forced him to speak wrong statements. Thereafter, he sought police protection, so that he’d be safe from the CBI. Gangadhara Reddy’s murder is now being investigated by the Anantapur Police.
