Many people praised Jagan Mohan Reddy when he named his party as ‘Yuvajana Shramika Raithu Congress’ party which can be abbreviated to YSR Congress Party as Jagan’s father is the former AP CM YS RajaSekhar Reddy who was a congress leader. Now, it seems like the AP people may not have the privilege in the future to call the ruling party in the state as the ‘YSR Congress Party’.
Delhi court issued notices to YS Jagan and Election Commission as a response to the hearing of the petition filed by the ‘Anna YSR Congress’ national president Mahaboob Basha. Basha claimed that the party owned by Jagan Mohan Reddy was registered under the name ‘Yuvajana Shramika Raithu Congress Party’ but the party’s letterheads, notices, and publicity boards have been authorized under the name ‘YSR Congress Party’ which comes under the duplication of their ‘Anna YSR Congress Party’.
The Delhi High Court on Monday sought a response from the Election Commission of India and others on a petition seeking de-registration of the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy led Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party, claiming that it has “illegally” and “unlawfully” used the abbreviation “YSR” which is an integral part of the petitioner’s name i.e., “YSR Congress Party”, on its letterheads, campaign material and other collaterals of party administration.
This entire ruckus started when MP Raghu Rama Krishnam Raju raised the ‘name’ issue when he was issued show-cause notices from the ruling party under the name of the ‘YSR Congress party’. Now, the High court orders Jagan Mohan Reddy to file a counter at the earliest and postponed the next hearing to September 3rd. So, what’s is Jagan’s take on this issue?
