India’s leading tech hub Bangalore has achieved a major global milestone, emerging as the world’s fastest-growing major city by 2035, according to a new report by Savills. The ranking highlights Bangalore’s rising influence not just as India’s Silicon Valley, but as a key driver of global economic growth in the coming decade.

The report analyzed 245 cities worldwide, evaluating factors such as GDP growth, rising personal wealth, demographic shifts, migration patterns, and the increase in high-income households. Bangalore outperformed all other cities across these parameters, securing the number one position in projected growth.

A major factor behind this surge is the city’s strong talent pool and rapidly expanding technology ecosystem. Bangalore continues to attract global multinational companies, many of which are setting up Global Capability Centres (GCCs) in the city. Its young, skilled workforce and thriving innovation environment have made it a preferred destination for global investments.

The study also reflects India’s broader economic momentum. Several Indian cities have made it to the top 20 fastest-growing urban centers, indicating that growth is spreading across regions rather than being concentrated in a single city. The Asia-Pacific region, in particular, dominates the rankings, with India emerging as a powerful economic engine alongside countries like Vietnam and China.

Bangalore’s rapid growth is expected to significantly transform its real estate sector. Experts predict increased investments across residential, commercial, and infrastructure segments. Demand for office spaces is likely to rise sharply with the expansion of GCCs, while migration of IT professionals could boost demand for premium housing, including apartments and villa projects.

However, the report also highlights key challenges. To sustain this growth, Bangalore will need to strengthen its infrastructure, address traffic congestion, expand metro connectivity, and improve water resource management. Balancing rapid urban expansion with sustainable planning will be crucial for the city’s long-term success.

As Bangalore moves toward 2035, the global recognition signals not just future growth, but a defining moment in its journey as one of the world’s most dynamic cities.
