Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy is facing a very tough period for the first time after his party secured a landslide victory in the general elections. Though he used all his power to make the three capital bill in the assembly, Chandrababu used his experience tactically to stall the decentralization bill.
Now, more to add CM’s worries, here is the huge update from the center that YSRCP intentionally neglected Amaravati as the capital. During CBN’s reign, world bank agreed to lend the AP some funds for their capital development. The center mediated this deal instead of their differences with the TDP government. While everything is going smoothly, the government was changed and then came the real problem.
As per the earlier deal, the World bank intended to issue 2065 crores as the first installment of the loan but the YSRCP government showed no interest in the completion of Amaravati. Jagan was warned multiple times about this as this would prove to be a critical scenario for AP in their future endeavors. Nirmala Sitharaman said that Jagan hasn’t replied even after the center wrote him several times requesting an update.
Eventually, the world bank backed off on this loan process. That is not the end of it. Now, if CM Jagan successfully starts his decentralization work, he will need funds from the same world bank who aren’t okay with Jagan’s attitude. We don’t know if the state treasury can build three capitals ruling out the factor that the money that was already spent on Amaravati has already gone wasted. Can Jagan continue his dream run without any jolts?
